I know that A LOT has been happening all over the world but my prayer is for none to doubt the truth which is you are loved by God, and for none to be swayed or distracted by the lies of Satan. It’s very easy for one to allow the media to dictate to them how they ought to live and think, but this should not be the case. We should allow the word of God to govern our actions, and we must not become slaves to fear because God has not given us a spirit of fear, but desires for us to have SOUND MIND. Swiftly moving forward I hope you can gain some useful tips from today’s write up, as we continue our seven part series on the life of Ruth.
As believers we should allow God to do His thing, we have to let go and let God take control over every situation, which is precisely what Ruth did. Ruth did not manipulate situations or force things to happen in order to get somewhere in life. She was honest and hard working, and in the process of living an obedient life she gained a husband. Her primary focus was caring for her mother in-law Naomi, as well as learning about the God Naomi served, and in doing so God brought her the blessing of marriage and not any kind of marriage but a marriage which drafted her into the lineage of the future Messiah. Remember the gifts which the Lord gives are GOOD gifts! They blow our minds and exceed our expectations.
Ephesians 3:20 ~ “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
Can you imagine a woman who was not of Hebrew heritage became the ancestor of the Messiah Jesus Christ. She came from a family of idol worshipers yet the Lord brought her out of the darkness and into His marvellous light. This tells me that regardless of your race, upbringing, past, or sex, the gift of salvation is available to ALL. God accepts ALL those who believe that He is Lord and Saviour, into His family.
Acts 10:34-35 ~ “Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
Galatians 3:28 ~ “There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
The above Bible passages reinforce the truth that Christ came to save ALL. This should move believers to encourage their family members especially young children to love all! This is one way we can help diffuse racism by pointing people to the truth.
From investigating the life of Ruth one can note the importance of loving God through living to serve and honour Him. Loving God should be our sole focus in life and we must also strive to love our neighbour as ourself. Ruth accomplished this by caring for others. From studying the life of Ruth I’ve also recognised the significance of learning to trust God and believe that everything which I need in line with God’s will for my life will be given onto me. Ruth had faith that if she went out to look for work, she’d find work. She did not seem to exude feelings of doubt during this process. During her job hunt she just so happened to end up working in the field of one of her family redeemers, whose name was Boaz a relative of Naomi’s husband. Trust God to meet your needs, trust that your blessing will eventually come, and know that the Lord will supply all of your needs.
Ruth 2:1-3 ~ “Now there was a wealthy and influential man in Bethlehem named Boaz, who was a relative of Naomi’s husband, Elimelech. One day Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go out into the harvest fields to pick up the stalks of grain left behind by anyone who is kind enough to let me do it.” Naomi replied, “All right, my daughter, go ahead.” So Ruth went out to gather grain behind the harvesters. And as it happened, she found herself working in a field that belonged to Boaz, the relative of her father-in-law, Elimelech.”
So have the confidence that God will orchestrate a series of events to happen in order for you to attain what He has in store for you. Allow Him to guide your footsteps so that you walk towards and into your blessing. Don’t forget that one connection/blessing can lead to many more blessings! Ruth did not only become a wife, she also became an ancestor of Christ.
Matthew 1:1-17 [vs 5-6 “Salmon was the father of Boaz (whose mother was Rahab). Boaz was the father of Obed (whose mother was Ruth). Obed was the father of Jesse. Jesse was the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon (whose mother was Bathsheba, the widow of Uriah)].
[vs 14 “All those listed above include fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the Babylonian exile, and fourteen from the Babylonian exile to the Messiah.”].
I don’t know about you but I’m trusting the Lord to bring across my path several ‘it just so happened’ events, so that He alone will receive ALL the glory. I desire for people to look at my life and sincerely say that God is truly good.
Psalm 145:7 ~ “Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness.”
