Handling advice the right way.

Good day beautiful people

I hope that this post meets you and your family members well? The longer and brighter days seem to have such a positive and uplifting effect on human beings. I, for one appreciate being able to enjoy sunlight pre and post working hours 😊. Safely enjoy the sunshine when you can people, don’t miss out on some vitamin D!

So from today’s title one can correctly assume that this post will be looking into how to handle advice. Throughout life we will be bombarded with suggestions, which is why it’s so important that we learn how to manage the information (criticism) we receive. We must remember that not everyone is ‘out to get us’. Not all criticism is bad, some advice we receive from kindhearted individuals can be extremely helpful, and life changing.

It’s vital for Christians to pray about ALL things, including the advice we receive. Take all matters to the Lord in prayer. It’s not uncommon for someone to give another person bad advice, because they resent them, and desire to see them fall. Which is why we must PRAY before implementing changes in our life, from the suggestions we hear.

Exodus 18:23 ~ “If you follow this advice, and if God commands you to do so, then you will be able to endure the pressures, and all these people will go home in peace.”

^^^Upon reading Exodus 18:23 the Holy Spirit highlighted two major points to me.

1. When we’re given advice we should take it to the Lord in prayer, in order to see what God has to say.

2. Jethro didn’t force his advice upon his son-in-law Moses. Jethro stated that ‘IF’ God commands Moses to follow such a pattern of working as per his suggestion, then he should do so. This tells me that it’s extremely important for us not to infringe on another persons freewill.

We shouldn’t force others to follow our advice, we can give wise counsel but we should allow the Holy Spirit to do the rest. Now when it comes to parents guiding their young children, biblically speaking children are to obey their parents. A godly parent strives to raise their child to the best of their ability, therefore children should obey their parents instructions.

Hebrews 12:10 ~ “For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness.”

(P.s. this post has not be created to encourage children to disobey their parents Holy Spirit inspired guidance).

Ephesians 6:1 ~ Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed today’s short read, and I also hope that you’ve gained some knowledge, and insight. Please do continue to pray regarding the mental health crisis, as sadly suicide attempts have dramatically increased due to the pandemic. Try to reach out to a friend, honestly a text/phone call goes a very long way!

God bless

Love

Simply a young woman striving to encourage women of God, whilst trying to spread the gospel to a mass majority of ladies all over the world. I am an armature with regards to blogs, but with more time and by God’s grace I shall improve lol. I want every single female on earth to know how much she is loved by God (John 3:16)! Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit.
