Hey beautiful people
This post is specifically dedicated to
all the parents out there!!! I want to remind you that you play such a SIGNIFICANT role in your childrens lives, therefore don’t see yourself as unimportant. Speaking from an adult child’s perspective my parents are definitely my real life superhero’s, and I totally get why the bible states MULTIPLE times, that one should honour their parents.
Exodus 20:12 ~ Honour your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
Ephesians 6:2 ~ Honour your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise.
You wonderful human beings deserve respect regardless of wether you’ve raised one child or an entire football team! Biological parent or not you’re worthy of respect. Although I am not a parent yet (I do look forward to being one in the future God willing) I do understand that ‘MOST’ loving parents sacrifice SO much for their children. Raising another human being is a life investment, my hat goes off to all the amazing fathers and mothers reading!
Without further ado I shall go onto share a quick word of encouragement!
You may not be a millionaire, neither may you be part of the wealthiest group of people within society, but you can still give your child the best life possible, by being there for them and speaking words of affirmation into their ears! Hearing that you’re loved is one of the greatest words one can hear in their entire lifetime! Your child may not remember all the gifts you give them, or be aware of how much money you’ve spent on them, but they will always remember the times when you spoke words of encouragement when they felt like giving up. It’s very difficult to erase such precious memories! They’ll remember the times when you stood by them when no other human being could! Parents you’re significant! You are your child’s real life superhero’s!
God the Father audibly spoke out that He was pleased with His Son, and His Son brings Him great joy! We can all learn a lesson from God and tell our children we’re pleased with them and that we love them dearly.
Matthew 3:17 ~ And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”
Matthew 17:5 ~ He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
(A quick side note for those who grew up without parents, God is a Father to the fatherless, the love He has for us is stronger than that which a mother has for her child. I am not ignorant to the fact that sadly some parents abandon their duty of care, but God is the perfect Father who will never abandon His children).
Psalm 68:5 ~ A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
During times of emotional difficulty money doesn’t always help, its words of affirmation that help us get through! Knowing that all you need to do is call a loved one for help/advice is such a great blessing! So parents use your words to build your children up and not tear them down, and remember YOU ARE PEOPLE OF INFLUENCE.
