LIVING out the gospel.

Good day beautiful human beings,

Today I will be discussing about the Holy Bible, a fundamental tool which I believe every believer should be familiar with. So without further ado I will jump straight to the several points which I desire to present to you.

Firstly I do not in any way doubt the authenticity, authority, accuracy, and power of the word of God, but I do believe many of us have fallen into the habit of underestimating LIVING out the word of God!

Some people may have never stepped into a church, or heard a sermon in their entire lifetime, but get to SEE, FEEL, and EXPERIENCE the power of the gospel through the way a believer lives!

Your actions, inactions, and speech, speaks VOLUMES to those around you, your family, friends and co-workers! So be very careful with how you carry yourself as the way you behave can either drive people away from the faith, or bring glory to God!

Now let’s look at the life of Christ as the perfect example. Christ lived a life fuelled by the power of the word of God!

Christ IS the word in flesh, the word in flesh appearing/revealed to the the world! Wherever Christ went He made an impact! Many people were drawn to Him because He was different to the others (the Pharisees and Sadducees), He spoke with great power and authority (Mark 1:22)! He reached out to those rejected by society, He healed the sick, showed kindness to those in need, He openly spoke out to individuals labelled as ‘outcasts’. Everything He did was the result of an expression of His great love for mankind.

John 1:1 ~ In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 ~ So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

John 4:7-9 ~ When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)

Holy scripture states that we’re called to be like Christ (Philippians 2:5), and I believe we can learn a great lesson from Christ in this area. We must truly strive to love our neighbours. So I’m going to share a few things I do that I believe express my faith in God (ways I live out the gospel) without me stating I’m a Christian.

Philippians 2:5 ~ In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.

(Just a quick side note I do believe that our actions can attract people to Christ but ultimately a person needs to hear the truth of the gospel and BELIEVE. And the bible states how can they believe unless they hear? (Romans 10:14). We can attract people by our actions which provides the open door for them to hear about our faith when they ask us certain questions 😀).

1. Holding back my tongue when someone is rude in order not to speak evil back.

2. Repaying evil actions with kindness.

3. Avoiding speaking negatively about others. And when in the presence of others who do so, either change the topic of conversation, or state one nice thing about the individual being negatively spoken about.

4. Not allow my anger to control me whilst driving, say NO to road rage people.

5. Not using profane language.

6. Avoiding watching and listening to sexually immoral material.

7. Continually striving to work in peace with challenging humans (still a working progress but God is definitely fine tuning me 😅).

8. I’m working on investing in the lives of others in areas which they need support.

I will be doing a follow up posting sharing how reading the bible has impacted my faith, and tips on how to read through the word. Also don’t feel discouraged if you’re not much of a strong reader, you can still experience the power of the word through audible means.

I hope you’ve managed to take away something from today’s post, but I desire for you to remember it’s usually the acts of kindness which you deem to be small, or insignificant, which make the biggest difference. Such as a smile, your smile is beautiful and has the power to light up a room, and to touch a human soul. So…. SMILE MORE PEOPLE 😀.

Proverbs 15:30 ~ “A cheerful look brings joy to the heart; good news makes for good health.”

God bless

Sending love and blessings your way 😘
