Hello world 🤗
It’s amazing how ones perception on life can become extremely unclear/distorted over time without one even realising. This is why it’s so important for us to take time out to reflect. I say this because recently I decided to take a trip to visit my local optometrist. Over the past 18 months I’ve noticed that objects/signs from afar where difficult to visualise (they where BLURRY), but I thought it’s not too much of a big deal. But to cut a long story short it turned out that what I thought was 20/20 vision was in fact not so perfect vision after all! I left the building with a prescription for glasses! This got me thinking about life overall, and the fact that we must develop the habit of reassessing ourselves to ensure that we’re not going off track! It is also necessary AND important to review our goals and if needs be readjust our goals so they become more attainable!
Another attribute within our lives which needs CONSTANT/DAILY evaluation is our ATTITUDE? How are we treating those around us? How do we react when faced with challenges? It is vital that we strive to exude a loving character at all times, even when faced with difficulties. This is because a bad attitude can close open doors of opportunity, whilst a loving, godly character has the power to open doors of excellence before us!
So plan to set aside time for reflection at the end of each working day. Picture it to be like a debriefing session, a time where you can see how you can do better with God’s help! (I do so during my prayer sessions where I pour out my heart to God, as well as my concerns, and frustrations)! Also once in a while treat yourself to a retreat (it doesn’t have to be miles away or expensive, a trip to the local park will do), just make sure you’re away from noise. Use this moment to ponder over you BIG life choices and decisions. During such moments you’ll get the chance to determine wether you need to change your course of direction or stay on the same track. And my last but most important tip is to never underestimate the POWER OF LOVE!!! When you are NOT walking in anger, bitterness, resentment, unforgiveness, and jealousy you are more likely to make decisions which honour God and benefit yourself!
Honestly the bible is full of SO MUCH wisdom from verse to verse! The bible says that we ought to study ourselves approved and we should DAILY be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2)! We HAVE to DAILY check ourselves, and we must continually use Gods word as a guide. Allow Gods word to be your Optometrists to show you wether your life TRULY reflect Christ likeness, and to reveal wether you’re living in the light, or are blinded by spiritual darkness!
2 Timothy 2:15 ~ Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.
James 1:23-24 ~ Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
Matthew 22:36-40 ~ Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
(Just a quick side note people, I DEFINITELY appreciate Gods handiwork a lot more now that I can see nature more clearly. Observing tree branches in focus WITHOUT THE BLUR has one my heart over for some peculiar reason)! 😀
God bless and have a wonderful week
❤️
