Good morning beautiful people
Today’s topic of discussion will revolve around a few verses taken from Deuteronomy chapter 28. The word of God greatly inspires me on a daily basis, and it is my desire to share some readings and insights with you all. Stay safe, stay blessed, stay creative, keep connected, and keep learning😀.
Over the past few years I’ve increasingly heard the words ‘Christ is coming soon’, and logically this is absolutely true. As each day goes by the day of Christ’s return draws nearer. There are many evils taking place around the world but this is only the beginning of the birth pains. My personal observation is that we are living in an era of rebellion. Good is called evil and evil good.
Matthew 24:4-8 ~ Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.
The Bible also states that there is nothing new under the sun, history merely repeats itself. The current event happenings we now face have occurred before, and I believe that it’s time for us humans to realise that we are not invincible, we need to appreciate life a lot more. It’s time for us to humble ourselves and acknowledge that even with all our advancements, we are still susceptible to unexpected events raking havoc over our lives. Havocs which money or cleverness cannot prepare us for. It’s time to turn back to God.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 ~ History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.
One thing I’m learning is that God’s promise usually come with conditions. ‘If you…. then you’ll…”.
Deuteronomy 28:1-3 ~ “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God: Your towns and your fields will be blessed.”
Deuteronomy 28:13 ~ “If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom.”
Upon reading Deuteronomy 28 in it’s entirety, one can see that the nation of Israel were informed about the consequences of abandoning God, (turning away from His hedge of protection). As well as being told of the blessings which result from trusting in the Lord. It was made clear that acts of defiance would lead to great destruction, from panic and frustration, to sickness. The poor choices we make can have dire consequences, and we all know how stress and anxiety can have devastating results on our physical and mental wellbeing. So let go and let God, cast your burdens onto Him, become dependent on Him. Put the cross before you and the world behind you. Say no to rebellion, and trying to do things all by yourself. We must surrender completely to the King and stop trying to handle matters on our own terms and conditions.
For some abandoning the faith is a way of experiencing freedom, but I must tell you God’s commands and instructions are actually blessings which bring about safety and protection. They yield love, peace, and hope, God is not a killjoy but a loving Father.
I for one can admit that at times I do not seek for help, because I like the feel of doing things by myself. I tend to find it fulfilling and rewarding. It’s only until I get so frustrated that I finally turn to someone for help e.g. when putting furniture together. Now picture a toddler refusing to give their parent a bottle of water to open up, they want to do it all by themselves, and struggle during the process, therefore end up tired and thirsty for the moment. This is exactly what happens when we try to do God’s job for Him. We tire ourselves out. We end up exhausted when we refuse to depend on Him. I am not saying that trusting in God’s timing will always be easy, sometimes it’ll get tough but we must patiently wait upon the Lord, for He is our solid Rock Whom cannot be shaken, Amen.
Psalm 27:14 ~ “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”
In this current climate many individuals are seeking to join the next uprising with limited insight and knowledge, all in the name of independence. But rebellion does not produce productiveness or positivity, what it does do is lead to chaos. It’s time for us to turn back to our first love. God desires to have a relationship with mankind. Accept His love as there is absolutely nothing on this earth that can truly satisfy the human soul other than the love of God.
Stay strong during this season we are in, and remember it is just a season. The rain may beat you down, but the showers will eventually come to an end. Run to the Lord for He is a very present help in times of trouble. Continually thank God for His saving grace.
Psalm 46:1 ~ God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
God bless
Enjoy your day beauts
