Too close for comfort: Tailgaters you need to STOP.

Good day beautiful people

I hope this post meets you and your family well?? I really felt the urge to share my encounter with you as I must say God REALLY came through for me. He helped calm me down and opened up my eyes to see the bigger picture.

So I was on my way to a night shift on Sunday evening and I realised I was going slightly above the speed limit so I decided to slow down. All of a sudden in my rear view mirror I noticed a small vehicle become increasingly close to my car bumper. This vehicle then decided to drive in the middle of the road to see ahead of my car. My blood began to boil and my heart started beating faster due to frustration. I slowed down even more so due to feeling annoyed/pressured, and because of the fact that I was approaching a zebra crossing. This car then aggressively overtook me, only to slow down less than 200 meters ahead because of a speed camera.

This incident continued to play on my mind for a few hours into my nightshift until I went for my break. It was during my resting period that I came across the passage Proverbs 15:18 whilst studying my one year bible reading plan! This was sooooo appropriate for me to read, it was truly a word in season. I felt the Holy Spirit gently nudge me and remind me that being cool tempered is the better choice, and that I did the right thing by not speeding.

Proverbs 15:18 ~ “A hot-tempered person starts fights; a cool-tempered person stops them.”

The thing is, if I decided to put my foot on the gas peddle in order to prevent the car behind from overtaking, I would actually be doing the dangerous driver a favour. I should not have to do the hard work of changing lanes, whilst putting lives at risk and breaking the law, just so that someone can get to their destination a little quicker. Or because they want to show off in their car. They can do the hard work of overtaking instead of me giving myself heart palpitation because I feel pressured to speed up.

Remember we gotta represent Christ on the roads too, as well as in our work places because we are His ambassador’s! I understand that at times some individuals may not realise that they are driving way too close to the car ahead, but living in the midst of a pandemic does not justify erratic/dangerous driving.

2 Corinthians 5:20 ~ So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

Love you all

God bless beautifuls

Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit.
