Valentines edition: Let go and let God!

In life there will be moments were you encounter hardships, and will not understand why until a much later date! And guess what, sometimes we may never understand why things don’t work out. This is just life!

‘Most times life is better understood backwards, but must be lived forwards’!

[My adaption to a quote by Soren Kierkegaard].

Good day beautiful people

Today’s post is all about letting go, and letting God! Stop reminiscing on what could have been, and snap back into reality! And as usual, I plan on being as open, and honest as I can be, in relation to my single journey.

I remember the time when I first started working, and couldn’t understand why this technician guy would always stare at me! I used to think ‘is he taking the mick?’, or ‘is there something wrong with my weave’. And by the time I realised he liked me, it was too late, he was gone! I never saw him again! I was very frustrated with myself, and started thinking about what COULD have been. Yes I imagined our kids 🙈! They would have had the biggest smile, and I could just picture their ringlets. He was my kinda tall (over 6 foot), nice teeth, blonde curls…Plus my smile 😅, and gorgeous coils, I mean of course our kids would look BEAUTIFUL! Ok fantasy over now.

Once the ship has sailed, let it go! Don’t try swimming after it!

And there was another time, a different individual caught my attention. He was my 10/10, caramel chocolate skin, & 6 ft plus 🙌🏾. We had a moment, you know like in the movies when your eyes connect, and sparks begin to explode within your soul! Yeah that was a very memorable moment. I knew he was into me, but nothing really happened. I used to beat myself up about the so called ‘missed opportunity’. I believed that all he needed was a bit of encouragement (me dropping hints), in order for him to make a move! But IF it was meant to be, it would have happened! I strongly believe that God’s plans for my life will always exceed my imagination, Amen. And you should too!

Ephesians 3:20 ~ “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

What we MUST remember is that, God makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose. God wants the best for us, and His loves for us is unconditional. His unfailing love is our shield of protection! And most of the time’s when we don’t get what we want, it’s actually a great blessing in the long run! For example, just imagine the disaster which would come from a parent giving their 7 year old child a car to drive?! It is because of the love that they have for their child, that they would not give their offspring a real car to drive, at such a tender age!

Romans 8:28 ~ And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Sometimes there are good reasons as to why things don’t go according to our OWN plans! And I’d like for us to look at a biblical example of this, found in the book of Mark.

Mark 5:18-20 ~ “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.”

^^^In the above passage one can note that Jesus said NO, to the healed man’s request. Jesus told the man to stay where he was. This man’s act of obedience towards Christ’s instruction, led to masses of people finding out about Jesus, through his personal testimony. What an amazing outcome! But I can imagine the man being a little down after Jesus said no.

And as mentioned earlier on, there may be times where you will never know/understand why certain things happen, or don’t happen! And it may not be your fault, so stop blaming yourself like I did! Let go and let God peeps! Don’t forget that we’ll have eternity to ask God all the questions we want! I can just imagine the number of why’s, many of us would have lol. And I’m sure there will be a lot of praising, rejoicing, and celebrating in heaven!

Romans 11:33 ~ “Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!”

^^^We can never fully understand God’s ways, they are too marvellous for our minds to comprehend.

Anyways enjoy your valentines weekend, and remember the love of God is like no other.

God bless
