Don’t let the opinions of others sway you: (You have a purpose part 2)

Good day good day,

I pray that this post meets you well, and that the peace of God which surpasses all human understanding, rests upon your hearts. Welcome to the 2nd part of our series on discovering your purpose, through unearthing your talents and abilities. In today’s blog the focus of our discussion will be centred around knowing your position, and not being negatively influenced by others.

Upon reading the book of Judges a certain truth gripped my inner man. That truth being that one should not take up a position based upon the request, or opinions of others. Neither should one assume a position because they desire wealth, power, or status. We should only do what GOD has carved us out to do. Only then can we truly bless others. Do not rob others of their blessing because you’re too busy trying to be like someone else, by doing something that you’re not called to do. This will only cause you and those around you pain, because when you strive to live like another human being, you end up developing feelings of dissatisfaction within yourself.

Judges 9:8-15 ~ “Once upon a time the trees decided to choose a king. First they said to the olive tree, ‘Be our king!’ But the olive tree refused, saying, ‘Should I quit producing the olive oil that blesses both God and people, just to wave back and forth over the trees?’ “Then they said to the fig tree, ‘You be our king!’ But the fig tree also refused, saying, ‘Should I quit producing my sweet fruit just to wave back and forth over the trees?’ “Then they said to the grapevine, ‘You be our king!’ But the grapevine also refused, saying, ‘Should I quit producing the wine that cheers both God and people, just to wave back and forth over the trees?’ “Then all the trees finally turned to the thornbush and said, ‘Come, you be our king!’ And the thornbush replied to the trees, ‘If you truly want to make me your king, come and take shelter in my shade. If not, let fire come out from me and devour the cedars of Lebanon.”

Another significant lesson which I learnt from reading the above passage, is the importance of not falling into the trap of comparison! It is vital to avoid comparing yourself with others, because each individual has their own unique strengths, qualities, and abilities. For example I like both strawberries and bananas, but I like each fruit for different reasons. Neither is better than the other, personally I do prefer bananas, but this does NOT in any way mean that bananas are superior to strawberries.

Why I like bananas: They go well in cake batter (banana bread/cake 😍), they’re great for breakfast, and bananas are sweet energy boosters. Health benefits: Bananas are high in fiber, B6, manganese, potassium, and antioxidants. They are cardio protective helping provide a reduced risk of heart disease, degenerative illness, and improved kidney health.

Why I like strawberries: Strawberries are great for decorating cakes, and they taste delicious when dipped in chocolate, or when present on cake frosting. Health benefits: Strawberries contain vitamin C, manganese, fiber, folate, potassium, anthocyanins and antioxidants. They may improve heart health and help prevent cancer.

Finally do remember that you’ll meet some individuals who will give you advise from a place of jealousy! Some people may even tell you that ‘you can’t accomplish a goal’, knowing full well that you have the capability to achieve, simply because they envy you, and desire for you to fall. Sometimes those who despise us can notice our own strengths before we do.

1 Samuel 21:10-12 ~ “So David escaped from Saul and went to King Achish of Gath. But the officers of Achish were unhappy about his being there. “Isn’t this David, the king of the land?” they asked. “Isn’t he the one the people honor with dances, singing, ‘Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?” David heard these comments and was very afraid of what King Achish of Gath might do to him.”

^^^David was not yet King, but the King of Gath could see the qualities of a King within David.

Anyways I pray that you all have a fruitful, and productive week, and may God’s peace guide you in ALL your decision making. I also pray for God’s peace and hope to rain down in the midst of civil unrest within the Middle East, and for God’s healing hand to rest upon India.

Stay safe all, and God bless.

Love from

News update: I’m excited to inform you all that I plan on releasing my very first softback book very soon. If you’re not yet aware I am an individual who is passionate about encouraging others to live out their God given purpose. And because of this I’ve decided to create a book designed to help individuals discover their purpose through unearthing their abilities/gifting. The first draft has been completed and checked, and I desire to start printing soon. My intention is to have some books available for free, and others set at the price decided by the customer. I will greatly appreciate your support. Please do keep me in your prayers as this would also be a great form of support for me. In due time the book will also be available for download as an eBook.

Simply a young woman striving to encourage women of God, whilst trying to spread the gospel to a mass majority of ladies all over the world. I am an armature with regards to blogs, but with more time and by God’s grace I shall improve lol. I want every single female on earth to know how much she is loved by God (John 3:16)! Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit.
