You’re not damaged goods!

Good day amazing people,

I pray that this post meets you and your family members well? Today’s read is going to be SUPER short, but it’s a word of encouragement which I simply cannot keep to myself…I have to share it. I believe that this message will inspire, and encourage many individuals by reminding them of the truth, which is you’re precious in the eyes of the Lord. And I hope that this post strikes a cord within all hearts, to view each other as precious beings made in the image of God. Today’s post has been inspired by the passage 1 Samuel 25:40.

This message applies to all, but women in particular. I say this because in a lot of communities SOME individuals hold the view that women are damaged goods, if they’ve been divorced, or are not virgins. I’m sure that some men have experienced hearing negative remarks about their sex life, but negative stereotypes disproportionately affect women more so than men. I’ve encountered people praising males for having a high body count, and the same people calling females hoes for carrying out the same actions. Now I must make it clear that I hold onto the view that sex should be reserved for husband and wife within a marital union, but having sex outside of marriage does not mean that you’re automatically damned (condemned to hell). Why because Jesus FORGIVES. When we confess any of our sins from a sincere heart, God is faithful and just to forgive. So ladies and gents you’re not expired or damaged goods, for in Christ you’re a new creation.

Genesis 2:24 ~ This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.

Hebrews 13:4 ~ Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

2 Corinthians 5:17 ~ This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

A biblical example of a persons worth.

Abigails husband had passed away, yet David saw her as someone he could call wife. He didn’t view her as damaged goods, but as a woman of wisdom, and grace.

1 Samuel 25:39-40 ~ ……..Then David sent messengers to Abigail to ask her to become his wife. When the messengers arrived at Carmel, they told Abigail, “David has sent us to take you back to marry him.”

1 Samuel 25: 32-33 ~ “David replied to Abigail, “Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who has sent you to meet me today! Thank God for your good sense! Bless you for keeping me from murder and from carrying out vengeance with my own hands.”

A woman separated from her husband due to death, or divorce as a result of infidelity is STILL precious and desirable.

Don’t forget that God gives us MULTIPLE chances. God makes all things new, and will never give up on us HALLELUJAH. The blood which Christ shed on Calvary cleanses His children of all sin once and for all.

1 John 1:7 ~ But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

God bless all, have a lovely weekend!

Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit.
