Hey godly ladies
It’s been a while (sorry), but I’m back and I’ve come to hit you up with a short but sweet post. ENJOY!!!

| 1) Because he looks strong. | 1) God is our strong tower (Proverbs 18:10).
God is a mighty warrior (Zephaniah 3:17). God is strong and mighty (Psalm 24:8). God is mighty in power (Psalm 147:5). |
| 2) Because He looks like a protector (appears like he could protect me). | 2) The Lord is our protector and fortress(Psalm 18:2).
The Lord protects us from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3). God is our Rock, Refuge and Shield (2 Samuel 22:3). God is our strength and help in time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Though we may walk through trouble God will deliver us (Psalm 138:7). God will NEVER leave us, He’s ALWAYS there, now that’s the greatest form of protection you could ever have or get (Hebrews 13:5). |
| 3) He looks manly (beard, great body, he’s taller than me). | 3) Jesus has the manliest body anyone could ever have. He’s nail pierced hands cry out forgiveness of sins and salvation!!!
But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). |
| 4) Because people I know, know him (mutual friends), so they can tell me ALL I need to know about him. | 4) God is the only one who truly knows a man’s heart. He sees what we cannot see, and knows what we do not know.
The Lord knows ALL hearts (Acts 1:24). God does not look at outward appearance, but rather He looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). |
| 5) He’s smart | 5) God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. He created the human mind, and gives man wisdom to create medicines, to paint to draw etc. Therefore God is the smartest person I know.
How Great is Gods wisdom and knowledge (Romans 11:33). Christ is actually wisdom itself. Now that is just amazing and unbeatable (1 Corinthians 1:30). God is actually the source of all wisdom, He is the One who gives wisdom to man (James 1:5). |
| 6) He has a great Job (therefore he’d be a great provider). | 6) God supplies ALL our needs (Philippians 4:19).
God sustains our souls, He is the one who keeps us going, by supplying us with all we need (Psalm 54:4). If God can provide for the birds in the air, how much more for us His children [humans made in His image] (Luke 12:24). We should not be anxious about our needs, because God already knows them all, and will make a way for providing them for you!!! (Matthew 6:31-32). |

Sometimes I feel that us being human find it all too easy to come to God with a list of why we want to be a relationship with a particular individual, or why we think God should bring a certain fella our way. Even though our points may be valid we must stop and think ONE are these characteristics, the same characteristic which God has instilled within the life of the mate He has already prepared for me (basically is my will in line with the will of God for my life?).
And TWO which I find to be most important is we should never believe that these characteristics can take the place of our sovereign Lords nature within our lives. They should never been seen as a substitute for God’s love, or used as a remedy to heal empty voids within our lives. We must realise that NO ONE or NO THING can take the place which God has in our lives. That place is designed for God and only for God, so until you realise this, you won’t feel complete wholeness. It is also extremely unfair to put all that pressure on a guy, as they can never be like God or live up to our unrealistic standards (well some of our standards). And I’ll even go as far as saying it is somewhat selfish (even though we may be a selfless individual, we can easily fail in this particular area).
But to sum things up, the main point I am trying to bring across is that we already have the greatest love of all, and we are already in the greatest relationship we can ever be in. And that’s being in a relationship with Jesus Christ, it is INCOMPARABLE to any other.
