Hey people
Today I have a message for both ladies AND gentlemen, and yet again I will be speaking from personal experience, and I pray that you’ll be blessed and encouraged by reading 😁.
People may find you distasteful for not responding to their ‘sexual’/’romantic’ advances and guess what??? THAT’S OK!!! I found myself in an awkward and uncomfortable situation at work where a ‘freshie uncle’ would use every opportunity he could to ‘ACCIDENTALLY’ touch my hand. He also didn’t seem to understand the concept of PERSONAL SPACE 😭. I would usually find myself taking longer routes to get to my destination within my work space just to avoid him. I am one who does not like to jump to conclusions. I like to observe people’s interactions with others before coming to the conclusion that a person is trying to make advancements towards me. This was confirmed when he asked me if I wanted to have his number and if I missed him when he was not around. I had to shut him down real quick at that point!
From then on I made sure that I avoided having lengthy conversations with him, and focused on my work and avoided eye contact when he tried to infringe on my personal space. For some strange reason it took him a very LONG time to get the point that I was NOT interested. But he eventually did.
So one day (actually on the evening I had the heated disagreement with John. If you’ve read the post then you know) this guy (freshie uncle) walks past me in the corridor and gave me this evil cold stare and didn’t say a word! I felt kinda bad and started questioning myself, and worrying about his feelings, not wanting him to feel sad. I then had to reject feelings of lowness real quick and fervently pray during that shift. It wasn’t until a few days later sitting on a London Underground train that Gods word just hit me and became so real in my current circumstance. God reminded me of Joseph in the bible! Jospeh was THROWN INTO PRISON for fleeing sexual temptation. Because he did not respond to Potiphar’s wife and her advances, she framed him (Genesis 39:6-21). But in the end God vindicated him (Genesis 41:37-40). And remember the Lord will vindicate YOU.
So please please please, do not feel discouraged if someone ignores you, dislikes you or shows hatred towards you for not engaging in sin. Gods got your back boo! And remember the world will hate you for loving Christ (John 15:18-21).
