Good morning lovely people
I hope you’re all well, blessed, and refreshed? I can tell you I sure am enjoying a period of refreshment as I am currently on annual leave. So for a while now I’ve acquired the skill of maximising the resources which God has placed in my life. I am learning to be thankful at all times, as well as acquiring the skill of cultivating a heart of gratitude. This learning opportunity came about through my search to better myself through EXERCISE 😅. Today you will discover my LOVE for at home workouts, and the importance of asking God to open your eyes so you can see all the blessings which surround you!
Personally I believe that one can live a healthy lifestyle and keep fit from the comfort of their own home. Yet another person may need to go to the gym in order to achieve the same results (lead a healthy way of life). This is why it is not good to compare yourself with others! You are a unique individual created by God to be different from every other human being. Embrace that and seek God for counsel on how YOU ought to live, instead of copying someone else!
Galatians 6:4 ~ Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.
I believe that I get A LOT more out of my home workouts in comparison to training at the gym. I really go hard when doing HIIT (high intensity interval training) without shame. And I achieve this all in the COMFORT of my own home! I have dumbbells and a barbell at home, which do help a great deal with weight/strength training, but you’ll be amazed at how much your body can do without external weights! You can target muscles within your body by using YOUR OWN body weight (it’s simply amazing). Another plus which home workouts provide me with is, I can literally wear what ever I want, train as vigorously and noisily as I want without people thinking I’m a nut job loool! And how can I forget working out from home costs nothing, it’s FREE so you get to save some monies.
As I usually do imma take us back to the book of life…. the Holy Bible. I’d like to remind us that many individuals before us were oblivious to the blessings around them, one reason being because of the difficulties they faced! So a smart thing for us to do is to take note and learn from their mistakes. The children of Israel in the wilderness being an example. They were frustrated and wanted to go back to Egypt, forgetting that God had provided them with manna and quail to eat! He did not depart from their presence day or night, He ensured their clothes were in tact! So let us not forget the good things which God has done for us!
Numbers 14:2 ~ Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron. “If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained.
Deuteronomy 29:5 ~ For forty years I led you through the wilderness, yet your clothes and sandals did not wear out.
And there is Naaman too! Naaman was told to go to the Jordan River in order to receive his healing! He didn’t have to trek to a spectacular, magical, or mystical Ocean, he simply had to take a trip to a river not so far from the location he was already in. But he deemed this river to be ‘insignificant’, but that river was exactly where HE received his blessing of freedom from leprosy! Don’t despise the resources which God places in your life, and as my dad likes to say ‘work with what you’ve got’!!!
2 Kings 5:10-14 ~ But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy.” But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage. But his officers tried to reason with him and said, “Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!’” So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed him. And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child, and he was healed!
I’d like to leave you with this verse to ponder over….
1 Thessalonians 5:18 ~ Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
Love you people
