Things to consider when reading the Bible.

Good morning beautiful souls

I hope you’re all having a great week so far by being thankful for all the blessings which God has placed around you, and by not allowing feelings of discouragement get the better of you? Having such a positive attitude has the power to take you further in life! Anyways after my last post on Bible reading I realised that there was still A LOT more to take into consideration when studying the Word of God. So I’ve decided to share some more tips on Bible reading in addition to my post written 2 weeks ago! It is my prayer that you are greatly blessed and encouraged by this supplementary publish on Bible study.

So what can one do to further enhance their time spent studying Holy Scripture???……

Use commentaries: This can be useful in helping readers obtain an overview and detailed explanation about the specific Bible passage being studying.

Read more than one Bible translation: This can help give one a clearer understanding of the selected text of study. Doing so allows individuals to go in depth whilst studying the Bible, by providing the opportunity to contrast different translations.

Don’t rush the process: If you rush when reading the Bible you WILL find it extremely difficult to take anything in, let alone be able to mediate on the Word throughout the day!

There are also some very important questions to ask yourself whilst reading Gods Word, such as….

Is there a command for me to obey?: One of the best ways in which we can show God that we love Him is through obeying His commands. And His commands are found in His word 😀. John 14:15 ~ “If you love me, obey my commandments”.

How can I apply it to my life?: Gods word is very relevant to everyday life regardless of how old Bible text is, Gods word will ALWAYS be applicable to mankind. The Word of God is eternal and can never be destroyed, Amen. Matthew 5:18 ~ I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.

Is there a sin to avoid or blessing to receive?: Gods word is like a safety net to all who read. It warns us to avoid certain dangers and also reminds us of Gods wonderful promises!

My phone is truly my notepad and pen! I love utilising my phone notes app, as I can easily write down further revelations which the Holy Spirit dictates to my heart, which was not yet made plain to me at the time I was reading the Bible! So find yourself your OWN notepad and pen. I also like to handwrite what I’ve absorbed from the Bible in my diary, and I love to keep my yellow highlighter close by.

There are individuals who have been given the special ability to teach under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit! I’ll be the first to admit that on some occasions I need a little extra help when it comes to understanding certain scripture passages. We should not be afraid or ashamed to ask for help in order to further understand the Word of God. Personally I gain a deeper level of understanding in Gods Word from spending time in fellowship with other believers studying the Bible.

Exodus 18:20 ~ Teach them God’s decrees, and give them his instructions. Show them how to conduct their lives.

Ezra 7:10 ~ This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the LORD and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel.

It is my prayer that we all continue to develop in our faith by aspiring to draw closer to God! Enjoy the rest of your week and have a SUPER BLESSED WEEKEND 😀😀😀

I am an armature with regards to blogs, but with more time and by God’s grace I shall improve lol. I want every single female on earth to know how much she is loved by God (John 3:16)! Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit.
