Good day beautiful people
I hope that this post meets you well? Today’s write up is going to be short, and sweet, I promise you☺️!
Panic attacks are no joke, as I’ve mentioned in previous posts. During my car prayer session (don’t worry my car was parked, and ignition off), I found myself reading through the book of Proverbs chapter 3, and two verses really struck a cord within my heart. These verses provided me with a great deal of encouragement, reassurance, and affirmation. I should NOT fear, because I have the unfailing love of God guiding me throughout all, the days of my life.
Proverbs 3:24-25 ~ “You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked,”.
I cannot tell you how many time’s I’ve read Proverbs chapter 3, I’ve lost count, but I feel like I’ve just discovered the precious gems found in verses 24-25! This passage seems brand new to me lol.
Another scripture which has greatly helped me through times of panic (night time anxiety assaults), has been Psalm 4:8, I absolutely love this passage. It’s a firm reminder that God is with me, and will keep me safe.
Psalm 4:8 ~ “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.”
Please note that not all thoughts are your own! You know those random thoughts that creep out of nowhere, that get you thinking ‘huh’ 🤔, well sometimes they can be seeds of fear planted by the enemy. Satan’s goal is to get us to doubt God’s word, and he tries to do so by all means. But we must think God thoughts. We must resist the thoughts of Satan, and we can do so through the power of the Holy Spirit. Do not meditate on Satan’s lies, and fall into the sin of worry. Instead believe that the power of the Holy Spirit will help you overcome sin, and the devils tricks/deceptions.
It’s also very important to remember that healing takes time, for some panic attacks can immediately cease, whilst for others frequency may gradually reduce over a period of months, or years. Sometimes it can take us a while to learn to become dependent upon God, but God’s mercy will always help us get through challenging periods. Tbh life is a mind battle, we have to stand guard and fight, we must know who to believe and trust. It’s either we trust God or believe Satan’s lies. We are not fighting against flesh and blood, we’re in a spiritual war!
Ephesians 6:12 ~ “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
Satan will make every effort to torment our minds, but we must believe God’s truth, and stand upon His word! Don’t let the devil rob you of the victory of the cross, appropriate God’s joy to your life.
I’d thought I’d end the post here, as I feel it is a very heavy/sensitive topic, and I did promise that today’s write up will be short. But I do intend to do a follow up post looking into the roots of fear.
Proverbs 6:21-22 ~ “Keep their words always in your heart. Tie them around your neck. When you walk, their counsel will lead you. When you sleep, they will protect you. When you wake up, they will advise you.”
^^^ God’s word will protect you as you sleep! Don’t let tormenting thoughts, or fear of the dark rob you of good sleep.
God bless all, and thanks for your continual support and engagement 💜.

thanks for the write up I was blessed by it. panic attacks are no good experience; they leave you hopeless and broken. Sometimes it feels like you’re trapped in a hole and there’s no way out. having experienced anxiety attacks, I am a living testimony of how the power of God’s word can bring peace and tranquillity to the human soul. God showed me how to make use of the 91st psalm to rid my mind of seeds of anxiety attacks sowed by the devil through the thoughts that come into my mind, so all I had to do was meditate on the 91st psalm until the seed of God’s word kicks out the seeds of evil thoughts, and then there is this peace and feeling of safety that comes with it.
Hi Abigail
Thanks for reading and sharing such an amazing testimony! Thank God for His precious word which brings peace in the midst of the storm. With God all things are possible! 😊
